Kedarkantha & Kedarnath are two different destinations. Yes, you heard it right both the destinations have their own significance. Kedarkantha is a mountain peak in Himalayas whereas Kedarnath is a place of religious significance and have a Temple of Lord Shiva in Garhwal region of Uttarakhand. So we are talking about Kedarkantha Trek which is a 6-day long trek in Govind Pashu Vihar National Park in Uttarakhand. Kedarkantha is easily one of the most popular treks in India. The summit climb of Kedarkantha is a very rewarding one. Right from the base camp of the trek, the summit looms large. As you start your trek in the early hours of the morning and steadily climb up the steep slope, the world opens up around you. It is the one of the best & simple treks for beginners out there among all and as you get closer to the summit it gets tricky as well at the same place but when once you reach to the peak you will feel a strong sense of satisfaction. DAY 1: DEHRADUN TO SANKRI

It will be a drive of 185 Km from Dehradun, the cab will pick you up from Dehradun Railway Station at 06:00 AM. Trekkers will be notified with details of the cab a day before your trek start day. Drive along Yamuna and Tons river, with pine forests surrounding your way, and enjoy the beauty of nature at its best. Overnight stay at Sankri.

DAY 2: SANKRI TO JUDA KA TALAB

After morning exercise we will have our break and start the trek around 8 AM for our first camp Juda Ka Talab. You will cover a total of 5 km of distance today. In this trail, one will come across many shepherd huts in open meadows which are equally delightful to see. The trail starts in a beautiful pine forest, just a short 10 minutes walk away from the village. The trail is wide and one can hear the sounds of running streams all through but may not be in view till much further. We will camp beside the small pond surrounded by Pine and Oak trees. One can have beautiful views of snow-clad peaks from Juda Ka Talab Campsite.

DAY 3: JUDA KA TALAB TO KK BASE CAMP

Get up early morning to see the golden glow of snow-clad peaks. Post breakfast starts the trek to Kedarkantha Peak base which takes around 4 hrs to reach Kedarkantha Peak base camp. The trek again begins through dense forests of pine and oak trees only and through the steep ridge and much more dense ar just before reaching the Kedarkantha Base one the fascinating views of an arc- shaped range of Show clapped mountains. Enjoy hot lunch and explore the area. At night, the snow- clad mountain peaks shine bright as the moon, and you will clearly see Kedarkantha from your campsite. Overnight sleep at the tent.

DAY 4: KK BASE CAMP TO HARGAON

Today is a long day trek up to the summit of Kedarkantha peak, the day begins early with a filling breakfast and enjoying the sunrise from the Kedarkantha meadows which is simply amazing, pure, and divine. sometimes you will find yourself in kneedeep snow. As the sun rises, you'll see a dramatic show of colors in the sky and the transformation leaves you speechless. One can relax at the top for some time and enjoy the magical beauty of nature. After spending some quality time at the peak we trek back to the camping site in Hargaon/Juda ka Talab, enjoy the snow slides while descending. Overnignt stay at camp.

DAY 5: HARGAON TO SANKRI

Today wake up with a magnificient view and this will be the last day of your trek. After breakfast, trek down to Sankri from Hargaon / Juda ka Talab on the well-marked trail by stones. Trek down through the thick forest of Pine and Maple trees and at some places you will have open views of beautiful Har Ki Dun valley. Overnight stay at homestay in Sankri

DAY 6: SANKRI TO DEHRADUN

Today after breakfast & pack your bag, it’s time to bid adieu to an adrenalin filled adventurous holiday but not without packing in your bags, some precious memories. We will provide a sharing cab from Sankri to Dehradun Railway Station. We can always hope for a revisit.
