Har Ki Dun or Har ki Doon trek is the most popular trek in Garhwal Himalayas due to for its massive open lush green valleys and magnanimity of the mountains. This trek is a paradise for bird watchers and nature lovers. Sometimes this trek will give you a glimpse of Kedarkantha. The Har Ki Dun trail takes you through some of the ancient villages that are 2,000 years old. It is one of the most scenic treks amongst all the Uttarakhand treks. You will love every bit of hiking here. Har Ki Dhun trek is accessible through the famous Govind National Park which is known for its tremendous variety of flora and fauna. We will cover 56 km which is covered in approximately a span of 7 to 9 days in this trek. The best time to cover this trek is from October to May.

Tour Plan

DAY 1: DEHRADUN TO SANKRI

It will be a drive of 185 Km from Dehradun, the cab will pick you up from Dehradun Railway Station at 06:00 AM. Trekkers will be notified with details of the cab a day before your trek start day. Drive along Yamuna and Tons river, with pine forests surrounding your way, and enjoy the beauty of nature at its best. Overnight stay at Sankri.

DAY 2: SANKRI TO OSLA

After morning exercise we will have our break, we will head towards Taluka in a vehicle. The trail starts from Taluka in a beautiful pine forest. In this trail, one will come across many shepherd huts in open meadows which are equally delightful to see. The trail is wide and one can hear the sounds of running streams all through but may not be in view till much further. Overnight stay at Osla.

DAY 3: OSLA TO WATERFALL

Get up early morning to see the golden glow of snow-clad peaks. Post breakfast start the trek to Har Ki Dhun. The trek again begins from Osla village initially descends and then continues gradually on the true left of the valley adjoining the river Supin. Later the trail winds upwards through beautiful forest full of Chestnut, Walnut and Willow trees, and continues to the village. Enjoy hot lunch and explore the area. At night, the snow-clad mountain peaks shine bright as the moon, and you will clearly see the night sky filled with 88 constellations from your campsite. Overnight sleep at the tent.

DAY 4: WATERFALL TO HAR KI DHUN

The day begins early with a filling breakfast and enjoying the sunrise. The trail from Waterfall campsite initially continues on the true left of the valley, goes past fields followed by crossing a hanging bridge over river Supin, to the right hand side of the valley. The trail now ascends, going past fields and pastures with local huts. The gradual ascent to Har ki dun offers excellent views of the snow covered mountains and lush green terraced mountain fields. The last steep climb of 200 m gets one to the famed meadows of Har ki Dun with the west face of Swargrohini overlooking the valley. Same Day decsent down to Waterfall campsite. Overnignt stay at camp.

DAY 5: WATERFALL TO OSLA

Today wake up with a magnificient view. After breakfast, trek down to Osla. One can see Kala nag, Bandar poonch, Ruinsara peaks and the majestic Swargarohini even before one reaches Har Ki Dun. A truly heavenly and peaceful place, for those wanting to spend some time by themselves feeling one with the vast expanse! You will want to go right towards Swargarohini and Jumnar glacier or left towards Borasu pass (Taking one to Chitkul in Himachal). The huge and picturesque valley is flanked by massive mountainson three sides, and the valley floor is covered in soft grassy patches. Overnight stay in Osla.

DAY 6: OSLA TO SANKRI

Wake up in the morning in the lap of mountains & enjoy the beautiful sunrise. Post breakfast, trek back to the Sankri via. Taluka of is an easy walk which gives a lot of opportunity to admire and photograph the beauty of the valley and the villages. Overnight stay at Sankri

DAY 7: SANKRI TO DEHRADUN

Today wake up with a magnificient view. After breakfast, pack your bag, it’s time to bid adieu to an adrenalin filled adventurous holiday but not without packing in your bags, some precious memories. We will provide a sharing cab from Sankri to Dehradun Railway Station. We can always hope for a revisit.
