Triund trek is the shortest an easiest among all treks in Himalayas with magnificent and picturesque views and that’s why it is called as weekend trek. Triund trek starts from McLeodganj and the place showcases very vibrant and distinct Tibetan culture, and you will be fascinated to see the splendid monasteries, prayer flags and wheels, and the lamas because it is said to be the place where Dalai Lama stayed in exile when he came from Tibet to India. In winters, this trek looks like a wonderland covered in a carpet of snow and in summers it is all about verdant meadows at the same place. Triund is accessible in all the seasons. This trek starts from Mcleodganj or Dharamkot or Bhagsunag. This 9 kms trail from Mcleodganj or Dharamkot takes you to Galu Devi Temple and enroute you will witness with some of the most beautiful vistas of the valley, and the sight of the Dharamsala Cricket stadium from a bird’s eye view will take your breath away!
